  • Warriors baseball coach Daniel O'Connor aims to strike out cancer with 10km run

    Cancer affects the lives of millions of people around the world. It can happen to anyone, and is life-changing for everyone who has been impacted. Daniel O'Connor (Etobicoke/), better known as "OC" around the baseball diamond, is an Etobicoke, Ontario native, and was the centerfielder for the University of Waterloo Warriors baseball team. Whether on the bases or in the outfield, his ability to run made him a difference-maker on the field. In July of 2017, his life would change forever, as he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 21. Instead of stepping into a starting role and going to battle with his Warrior teammates, "OC" was forced to fight a much more significant battle.

    Due to the pandemic the annual Terry Goodenough Memorial Run was cancelled in the Spring. Additionally, our University XC based meet, the Don Mills Open will not be running in it's normal capacity this year. This is why we have decided to join the two races to unite our community and to celebrate these two men and their events.
