KINGSTON, Ont. – Five goals by five different players lifted the Ontario Tech University men's hockey team to a 5-2 victory on Friday night against the RMC Paladins.
Jack Patterson (Bedford, N.S.) scored twice to lead the Ridgebacks back into the win column.
They will hope to do it all again tomorrow afternoon as Ontario Tech faces the Paladins in the second half of their back-to-back at 2:30 p.m. at Constantine Arena.

Jack Patterson scored the eventual game-winning goal with just 50 seconds to go in the second period.

JC Thivierge (Welland, Ont.) opened the scoring 2:48 into the game, the only goal of the opening period.
Nicolas Tardif (Chelsea, Que.) and
Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) each got their first OUA points with assists on the goal.

Jake Bricknell (Port Perry, Ont.) and
Josh Maguire (Cobourg, Ont.) each scored their second goals of the season to round out the Ontario Tech scoring.

Matthieu Gomercic (Winnipeg, Man.) scored the game-winning goal on an empty net with seconds remaining.
• Alex MacDonald and Sam Cameron scored RMC's goals in the third period within 30 seconds of each other after the Paladins had gone down 4-0.

Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) made 27 saves in the victory in his hometown. This was his first career OUA start and win since joining the Ridgebacks last season.
• Brad Van Schubert made 38 saves in the Paladins loss.
