Gaels offence too much for Ridgebacks

OSHAWA, Ont. – The No. 8 ranked Queen's Gaels offensive pressure was too much for the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Sunday afternoon as they won 5-1.

Christie Gray scored the first of her three goals in the opening minute, but Sarah Foster (Oshawa, Ont.) tied the match with her first goal of the season in the 10th minute.

Gray made it 2-1 in the 18th minute, which was followed by Jenna Matsukubo and Cecilia Way scoring before the half to make it 4-1. Gray's hat trick goal came in the 81st minute.

Olivia Tierney (King City, Ont.) started the match in goal for the Ridgebacks, but early on was replaced by Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) who made eight saves in the loss for Ontario Tech.

Alanna Richardson made two saves in the victory for Queen's.

Next weekend is a key one for the Ridgebacks as they host the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs, both teams they are battling with for the final playoff spot.
  Overall Record: 3-7-2 (W-L-D)
Conference Record: 2-6-2

Next Match: Saturday, Oct. 12 vs. Nipissing Lakers (12 p.m. – Vaso's Field)
