The Laurentian Voyageurs men's basketball team had their final regular season game of the year on Saturday at the Ben Avery, hosting the Queen's Gaels. The game finished with the Gaels on top 98- 62.

If the first quarter was any indication about how the game was going to go, it showed that Queen's came to take care of business. Immediately, their game plan was to get downhill and into the paint as much as they could. This led to a massive 26 points on 60% shooting and giving the Gaels an early 12-point lead going into the second quarter.

The second was more of the same as the Gaels improved their shooting percentage to 71% and put up a game high 28 points in the quarter to further solidify their message that they are ready for anyone come playoff time. However, the damage was limited as the Voyageurs were able to put up 22 points of their own in the second quarter. The points in the quarter were shared amongst six different Voyageurs as they knocked down four three-point shots in the second and went a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. This put the Gaels lead at 54-36 going into the second half.

The second half was a return to what the first quarter had shown as, once again, Queen's flexed their muscles, putting up 44 points in the half and extending their lead to 36 by the end of the game. Credit is due to Laurentian, as they never stopped fighting all the way to the final whistle with the game ending Queens's 98 - Laurentian 62.

Special shout out to Gaëtan Chamand who played his final game as a Laurentian Voyageur finishing his Laurentian career with 579 points 100 blocks and 349 rebounds over the course of 4 years with the Voyageurs

Laurentian finished the season 3-19, outside of a playoff spot, ending their season earlier than they would have wanted.
