OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech University women's hockey team continues their strong second half with a 3-2 win over the Windsor Lancers Friday night.
Natalie Wozney (Whitby, Ont.) scored a power play marker with just 4:23 left in regulation, giving the Ridgebacks their first and only lead of the game. Wozney's goal was the second of two power play goals by the Ridgebacks, who ended up going 2-for-5 with the man advantage.
Having not held the lead until late in regulation, the Ridgebacks showed great pride and effort, even when heavily outshooting Windsor for much of the game.
Ontario Tech now improves to 7-2 in the second half of the season and will hit the ice again tomorrow with an afternoon match against the visiting Western Mustangs.
• Maggie Peterson scored just 23 seconds after puck drop to give the Lancers the 1-0 lead.

Nicole Escano (Kingston, Ont.) timed her pinch perfectly and buried the cross-crease feed from
Alex Frigon (Dartmouth, N.S.) just 1:34 into the second period to tie the game.
• Amy Maitre restored the Lancers lead at 15:13 of the second.
• Jamie Bullied (Waterdown, Ont.) tied the game 2:25 into the final frame when her high shot deflected off the goalie's chest and bounced into the net.
• Wozney walked off the side boards and fired a perfect wrist shot home from the slot to give the Ridgebacks their first lead.

Celine Tessier (Chapleau, Ont.) made 15 saves in picking up her fifth win of the season.
• Kristen Swiatoschik stopped 36 of 39 shots in the loss.
