OTTAWA, Ont. - The UOIT Ridgebacks men's hockey team fell 3-0 on the road versus the No. 8 nationally ranked Carleton Ravens, keeping the OUA playoff picture up in the air.
Having already clinched a playoff berth, the Ridgebacks are hustling for playoff position, finding themselves in a three-way race with Concordia and UQTR to finish anywhere from fifth to seventh. UOIT's playoff position will now fall heavily onto the result of tomorrow's home finale against the Stingers, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Ice Centre.
In the Friday night showdown in Ottawa, the Ridgebacks were unable to solve Ravens goaltender Francois Brassard. After Carleton opened the scoring in the first period with a power play marker, UOIT came back in the second with a renewed vigor, instituting a physical style of play which saw scoring opportunities created. However, as the clock continued to run down an insurance marker for the Ravens midway through the third period took the wind out of the Ridgebacks sails.
• Ravens centre Brogan O'Brien scored his 11th goal of the season, a powerplay goal, at the 19:28 mark of the first period.
• CJ Garcia scored Carleton's insurance marker 11:31 into the second period.
• The Ravens added an empty-netter from Jared Steege to round out scoring in the Friday night showcase for the nationally ranked opponent.

Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) suffered just his fifth loss of the season, making 27 saves on the nights for the Ridgebacks.
• Earning the shutout victory, Francois Brassard ended the evening with 28 saves made.
