MBB | Voyageurs Balance Leads To Second Victory in a Row

For the second game in a row, there were contributions across the board for the Voyageurs as every player who stepped on the floor scored, en route to a convincing 80-63 win over the visiting Brock Badgers.
The Voyageurs got off to a fast start as Kamil Dia Hantchi and Nginyu Ngala teamed up to get the Voyageurs out to a 16-8 lead half way through the first quarter. That eight point gap carried though the rest of the period into the second quarter where the Badgers opened with an 18-6 run to take a four point lead with 6:18 left in the half. The Voyageurs absorbed that run and Pierre Mukandila sparked a run of his own, scoring nine of his team's next 11 points to end the half with Laurentian up 42-35.
In the third quarter, it was more of the same from the Voyageurs as their suffocating defence held the Badgers to just 11 points, seeing the margin widen to 12 heading into the fourth. The home team came out on fire in the fourth as it took them less than two minutes to push their lead to 22 points. The Badgers were able to claw a few points back but ultimately the home squad was able to see to a 17 point victory, 80-63.
Mukandila and Dia Hantchi paced the Voyageurs with 23 and 16 points, respectively, while Shawn Barthelemy pulled down a massive 12 rebounds to go along with nine points, six assists, and three steals. The Voyageurs will now battle the Laurier Golden Hawks at home on Friday at 8pm.
