OSHAWA, Ont. – Scoring the go-ahead goal in the last five minutes of regulation helped the Queen's Gaels top the visiting Ontario Tech University men's hockey team 3-1 on Friday night.
After dropping their first home game of the second half, the Ridgebacks came out determined and hungry. Controlling the play for much of the opening 20 minutes, Ontario Tech could not solve Gaels netminder Luke Richardson before the intermission. Showing patience, the visitors stuck were rewarded, capitalizing on a man-advantage opportunity.
Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) stood tall in the Ridgebacks net, especially early in the third when he stoned a Gaels penalty shot attempt to tie the game.
Ontario Tech now returns home for a doubleheader with the Laurentian Voyageurs, beginning Friday night.

Josh Maguire (Cobourg, Ont.) was able to deflect a
Jake Bricknell (Port Perry, Ont.) shot and the puck trickled through the goalie and just crossed the line to give the Ridgebacks the 1-0 lead at 10:29 into the second.
• Alex Row evened the game just minutes after Bullion's big penalty shot save, as his point shot found a lane through traffic.
• Ryan Cranford gave the home team the lead with just 4:49 left in regulations, while Graeme Brown sealed the game with an empty netter at 19:26.
• Bullion was sharp stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced in the loss.
• Richardson made 28 saves in the win.
