Salback scores three as Ridgebacks shutout Gaels

OSHAWA, Ont. – A 4-0 clean sheet victory over the Queen's Gaels for the Ontario Tech University men's soccer team capped off a perfect weekend.

Coming off Saturday's 3-0 shutout of the RMC Paladins, Sunday's victory saw Fadi Salback (Bowmanville, Ont.) score a hat trick and Nicholas Miller (Oshawa, Ont.) earn a clean sheet.

Miller's performance has some significance as the win and clean sheet tie him in both categories with Travis Martin at 15 wins and 11 clean sheets respectively.

Salback opened the scoring in the 17th minute as he tapped in an open ball in front of the Queen's goal after it bounced around from the Ridgebacks' corner kick. His second came off an Elijah Lorenc-Clarke (Scarborough, Ont.) cross that he headed into the back of the goal from the top of the six yard box.

At halftime his two goals held as the Ontario Tech 2-0 lead.

Brolin Masuhara (Burnaby, B.C.) scored his first career OUA goal in the opening minute of the second half as he finished on the final pass of the Ridgebacks' offensive possession at the top of the 18 yard box.

Salback closed out the scoring in the 60th minute.

Miller made three saves in the victory, while Tyler Gowdy made two in the loss for Queen's.
