Box Score The Warriors took to the court for their final home stand of the season on Friday night and put together an inspired effort, beating Brock 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22).Â
The Warriors put away 47 kills in the match compared to 41 for the visiting Badgers and they were also strong on the defensive side with 54 digs.
The Warriors improved to 6-12 on the season while Brock dropped to 2-16.
Leading the way for the black and gold was a pair of sophomore outside hitters with
Claire Mackenzie (North Vancouver) and
Sammie Gwozdz (Waterloo) teaming up for 25 kills while Mackenzie had 13 digs. Rookie phenom
Alyson Colpitts (Fredericton) was also strong from the outside with seven kills while leading the way defensively with 15 digs.Â
Up the middle
Casey Clunas (Harriston) put away eight kills while having a phenomenal game at the net with five blocks. Setting up the Warriors all night long was
Karly Smith (Lockport) who completed the match with 40 assists.
For Brock it was Alana Norris and Laura Condotta with eight kills each while Hannah Davenhill finished with 25 assists in a losing effort.
Waterloo will wrap up their 2015-16 season tomorrow night at the PAC against the Ottawa Gee Gees.
