York men's soccer holds firm at No. 1 in CIS Top Ten rankings
TORONTO (CIS) - The Laval Rouge et Or (women) and reigning champion York Lions (men) top the CIS soccer national rankings in the second coaches’ poll of the season.

On the women’s side, Laval (2-0-0) received 55 points in the voting to take over top spot from UBC (0-0-1), who dropped to No.2. Ottawa (3-0-0) also moved up one place into the top three.
Laval remained unbeaten on the year with a 4-0 victory over Bishop’s in its home opener on Friday night. The Rouge et Or will host Sherbooke this coming Friday.
In the men’s poll, York (3-0-0) earned 60 points, while UBC merited 48 to move up to No. 2 ahead of UNB (0-0-0), Alberta (4-0-0) and UQAM (0-0-1).
The top-ranked Lions also stayed undefeated with a 3-1 win over Laurier on Saturday in its first home game of the season. York visits McMaster on Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s OUA championship before welcoming Waterloo to campus on Thursday.
