Toronto's Anthony Spignesi named OUA Peak Performer

There was no stopping Toronto Varsity Blues rookie Anthony Spignesi (Toronto, Ont.) on the base paths this past weekend.
The first-year Arts & Science student-athletes stole 10 bases and batted .533 in four games on the road this past weekend.
Spignesi and the Varsity Blues split their weekend doubleheaders with Queen’s and McMaster.
In Game 1 on Saturday against Queen’s, Spignesi went 4-for-5, hitting four singles as the Blues defeated the Gaels 6-3. He followed that up, going 1-for-3 with a walk as the Blues dropped a 6-2 decision.
On Sunday again the Marauders, Spignesi was 1-for-5 with a single in a Game 1 loss but bounced back, going 2-for-2 with a single, double and two walks in a 12-6 Game 2 victory.
Toronto will now take on their crosstown rivals, the Ryerson Rams on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 12:00pm.
