TORONTO – Ryerson Athletics is excited to launch a new cross country club program to begin in the fall of 2015. The club will provide competitive training and competition opportunities for avid and experienced runners designed towards competing in OUA and CIS competition.
The team will be led by Tim Uuksulainen who last coached in the OUA with the Nipissing Lakers cross country team from 2003-2009. Tim brings 37 years of coaching experience in provincial, national and international competition to the program and has contributed articles for Runners World, Canadian Running, Ontario Roadrunner and Athletics Magazine.
Student-athletes interested in OUA competition should have previous competitive experience at the high school, club or provincial level and be able to balance the athletic demands of an intense competitive season and full-time academic study.
Information sessions and introductory practices will begin in early September in preparation for competition to begin immediately. Interested athletes should contact the head coach as soon as possible for more information and should be prepared to enter the season ready to run.
