CIS TOP TEN TUESDAY: Toronto men rank No. 1 heading into swim season
The Spartans (6-0) move up two spots in the fifth national coaches’ poll of the season, while the Golden Bears (4-2) drop two positions after spending four weeks at No. 1. McMaster (4-0) remains in second place for the fourth straight poll.
Something had to give in a battle of undefeated teams in Langley, B.C., and in the end, it was advantage Spartans as the locals prevailed 3-1 on Friday and in straight sets on Saturday.
In other CIS sports, Guelph tops the final rankings of the campaign in cross-country running after sweeping the team titles for the eighth consecutive year at the CIS championships in London.
Saint Mary’s (women’s basketball), Carleton (men’s basketball), McGill (women’s hockey), Alberta (men’s hockey), UBC (women’s swimming & women’s volleyball) and Toronto (men’s swimming) also maintain their No. 1 status.
