February 23, 2007
Hamilton, ON - East and West divisions will meet this evening in Western's Alumni Hall, with four teams hoping to secure an OUA Championship berth. Action kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with the host Western Mustangs, currently ranked 10th in the CIS, trying to extend their 20 game winning streak against the only team that has defeated them, the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. Opening the season against one another, the Gee-Gees took a 3 - 1 win at home from the Mustangs. Since then, Western is undefeated and the Gee-Gees have gone 13 - 6.
The second match of the evening features the #8 Toronto Varsity Blues, led by Anastasia Danilova (St. Petersburg, Russia) against the McMaster Marauders. Having secured a playoff spot, a Varsity Blues squad without Danilova dropped a 3 - 0 decision to McMaster. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
Both the bronze medal and Championship games will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2007 in Alumni Hall. The bronze medal game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with the gold to follow at 7:00 p.m.
