TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams women's soccer team will have a new face leading the program next season as Head Coach Kevin Souter officially stepped down from the position this week.
Souter joined the Ramily in 2010 as a student-athlete on the men's soccer team. Upon completion of his eligibility, Souter served as a coordinator for both the men's and women's soccer teams before becoming the Head Coach of the women's soccer program in May of 2012. Coach Souter helped to move the women's soccer program forward over the last three years but has made a family decision to return home to Scotland.
In coach Souter's own words, "I will be moving to Scotland this summer to be near family and pursue different opportunities within the game of soccer. With a young family I am seeking the opportunity to enjoy fatherhood at its most important time."
"On behalf of the Ryerson Athletic department, I would like to thank coach Souter for all his passion and dedication as a Ram," said Associate Athletic Director, Stephanie White. "His transition from being a student-athlete to a coach here at Ryerson was made easy thanks to his commitment to the program and a drive to raise the Rams' profile. We wish Kevin and his family all the best on their new adventure."
Ryerson Athletics will immediately begin a search for a new coach for the women's soccer team. Job posting details will be available on the Ryerson University Careers & Jobs page in the next ten (10) days.
