Ottawa @ RMC
KINGSTON, Ont. - Pilar Khoury led the high-powered Gee-Gees offence to a 5-0 win over the RMC Paladins in Kingston on Wednesday night, improving the team’s record to 3-0-0. The third-year striker registered a hat trick by scoring twice in the first half and again at the 65 minute mark.
First-year goalkeeper Julia McDonald got the start in net for Ottawa, her first appearance of the season. The native of White Rock, B.C. stopped three Paladins shots before giving way to sophomore Alexandra Girouard in the second half to complete the shutout.
Khoury scored the opening goal of the game at 17 minutes, opening the floodgates for Ottawa. The Gee-Gees held a 4-0 lead at halftime thanks to Khoury’s second goal at 24 minutes, fifth-year midfielder Corina Jarrett’s third goal of the season at 21 minutes, and the first goal of the season for veteran striker Sarah de Carufel just six minutes before the break.
In total, Ottawa peppered the RMC net with 23 shots, while restricting the home side to five on-target shots.

Carleton @ Queen's
KINGSTON, Ont. - The No. 2 Gaels (2-0) downed the Carleton Ravens (2-1) 1-0 on West Campus with a goal from rookie striker Tara Bartram (Vancouver) on their only shot of the game.
The Ravens dominated possession through 45 minutes on Wednesday, but the Gaels keeper Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) stopped all four of Carleton's first-half shots.
Bartram broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, finding the back of the net from six yards out on a Gaels corner. Tyrell held out in the second half, making three more saves for the clean sheet.
Scoring the Gaels only goal against RMC last week, Bartram has both of the Queen's goals so far this season.
The 2-0 Gaels are on the road this weekend, playing the no. 4 Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday at 6pm and the 0-2 Trent Excalibur Sunday at 1pm.

Sept. 3 Laurentian @ Nipissing
The Nipissing Lakers women’s soccer team overcame a 2-0 deficit to draw the Laurentian Voyageurs 2-2 in their home opener.
The Voyageurs took the early lead when they scored two goals six minutes apart on netminder Carlee Bennard, despite the Lakers having a number of good chances up the field.
The second half saw a different Nipissing team take the field as they began to force the play more, something head coach David Bitonti stressed over half time.
“We got back to our game plan,” Bitonti said. “We wanted to force them up the middle and take advantage of their miscues.”
He said the team was able to connect passes and started making plays and that contributed to the chances on the Laurentian net.
Nipissing took advantage when Stefanie Giftopoulos scored at the 53 minute mark to cut the score in half.
The momentum swing gave the Lakers even more energy and with time winding down Kelly Dunk netted the tying goal at the 86 minute mark for the Lakers.
“Kelly is our other goalie but she is also able to play up top,” said Bitonti. “She’s scored every game for us.”
She was also named the MVP of the game for the Lakers.
Bitonti said the comeback by the Lakers says a lot about the team.
“We got behind the eight-ball to start the game and we were able to turn the tide,” he said.
The tie gives the Lakers a 1-0-1 record so far this season.
Nipissing plays the University of Toronto on Saturday, Sept. 7.
