No. 1 ranked Brock wrestling capture Ryerson Open title
The No. 1 ranked Brock University men's and women's wrestling program both captured gold at the 2017 Ryerson University Open.
The Brock teams combined for the overall point total with 93.0 points ahead of Western (56.0 points) and Guelph WC (43.0 points). The women were first place with 59.0 points and men first place with 34.0 points.
For the Brock women, placing first overall were Tina Mclaren (55kg), Hannah Taylor (59kg), Skylar Grote(67kg) and Shauna Kuebeck (72kg). Samantha Romano (51kg), Indira Moores (67kg) and Darrion Sterling(82kg) all captured silver while Nicole French (72kg) collected bronze. Daina Armstrong placed fifth to round out the Badgers wrestlers.
For the Brock men, Sam Jagas (57kg), Cruiz Manning (72kg) Ignatius Pitt (90kg) and Calvin Daum (100kg) all took home individual gold. Ty Bridgewater (76kg) and Juwan Burgess (82kg) both captured silver, while Mark Sciz (54kg), Rock Provost (68kg) and Noel James (120kg) all added bronze. Rounding ot the Badgers were Joey Martin (61kg) and Matt Pugliese (65kg) who both finished fourth.
