Game 1 – McMaster vs UOIT
Sophie Skillen and Kasey Pfau each notched four goals and an assist to pace the McMaster Marauders past the UOIT Ridgebacks in the opening game of the tournament.
With the winner advancing from the play-in game to the quarter-finals, the Marauders were quick to jump on the Ridgebacks, scoring seven times in the opening half to stake themselves to a 7-1 lead.
The Marauders continued their offensive onslaught in the second half, thanks to a pair of goals from Pfau and Meagan Capati, to advance to a quarter-final matchup with the Western Mustangs.

Game 3 – Laurier vs Trent
In the highest scoring game of the opening day, the host Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks outlasted the Trent Excalibur 15-12 to eliminate the reigning OUA Champions.
The Hawks jumped out to an 11-7 lead after the first half thanks to the efforts of Rose Williams who three goals and four assists in the opening 30 minutes.
Trent would battle back in the second half but the deficit was too large as Laurier advanced to the medal round for the third straight season.
