WINDSOR, Ont.- The No. 1 Windsor Lancers women's basketball team earned to its 19th straight victory of the season by topping the rival Western Mustangs 71-58 on Tuesday evening.
Miah-Marie Langlois tallied a season-high 30 points as three Lancers hit double-digits on the evening. Jessica Clemencon recorded 15 points; and rookie Cheyanne Rogerhad 10 points, while Tessa Kreiger grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in the win.
The Lancers (19-1) shot 36.4% from the field while the Mustangs had a 40.4% efficiency. The No. 1 squad in the country dominated the glass, however, recording 43 rebounds compared to 26 from Western. Kelsey Wright and Jenny Vaughn had 15 and 14 points respectively, in a losing cause for the Mustangs (14-6), who currently sit in third place in the OUA west division behind the first place Lancers and second place Laurier Golden Hawks.
Prior to the tip-off the Lancers honoured their graduating seniors, fifth year guard Miah-Marie Langlois and fifth year guard Jessica Clemencon.
Windsor will close out the regular season with a pair of road games against the Waterloo Warriors on Wednesday night and the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon.
