TRACK AND FIELD ROUNDUP: Purple & White Intrasquat Meet
The Western Mustangs track and field team competed in the annual Purple & White Intrasquat Meet in Thompson Arena from November 18th, 2014 to November 20th, 2014.
The Western Mustangs track and field team competed in the annual Purple & White Intrasquat Meet in Thompson Arena from November 18th, 2014 to November 20th, 2014.
With 29 events and combined team scores, Team White finished in first with a total score of 317.50, while Team Purple finished in second with a total score of 248.50.
Joy Spear Chief- Morris did not hide from the spotlight as she broke two meet records running for the Purple Team in both the Women's 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.66s and in the Women's 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.79s.
Captain Robin Bone led the Purple Team and also broke a meet record in the Women's Pole Vault with a height of 3.86m.
Daniel Gayle led the White Team winning with personal bests in both the Men's Long Jump with a height of 7.05m and in the Men's Triple Jump with a height of 14.38m and was recognized for his outstanding early season results.
Winning in two events, Genny Cyrenne for the purple team placed first in the Women's 600 Meter run with a time of 1:37:29 and in the Women's 1000 Meter run with a time of 3:03.81. Other double event winner is runner Isoken Ogieva winning in the Men's 60 Meter hurdles with a time of 8.17 and in the Men's High Jump with a height of 1.95m.
Next up for the Mustangs is the Bob Vigars competition at Thompson Arena. Action starts on Saturday, November 29.
