OUA M-SOCCER ROUNDUP: BROCK AND U OF T BOTH VICTORIOUS

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's soccer team won for the third time in their last four games as they defeated the McMaster Marauders by the score of 4-2 in Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon.
In their first career meeting against one another, Brock head coach Bill Miller defeated former OUA All-Star and Brock standout Dino Perri who is in his first year as head coach at McMaster.
Freshman Mazaqfar Rahaamtulla (St. Catharines, Ont.) continued to spark the Badgers offence finishing with a career-best two-goal performance. He currently ranks 5th in the OUA with a team leading five goals.
Rookies James Blair (Niagara Falls, Ont.) and Matthew Dugas-Ruest (Sudbury, Ont.) added the other two Badgers goals, the first of their university career.
In goal, Brock freshman Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) recorded three saves for the victory.
Garret McConville (Ottawa, Ont.) and Omar Nakeeb (Mississauga, Ont.) scored for McMaster.

TORONTO, Ont. - Both teams recorded numerous chances but defence prevailed as things would remained scoreless at the midway point of the match.
The No. 6 Varsity Blues showed their hunger in the second half that produced some stellar scoring opportunities. Their efforts seemed all-for-not until third-year midfielder Mario Nallira (Etobicoke, Ont.) found himself wide open 30 yards out and sent a booming shot past Rams netminder Robert Paolozzi (Toronto, Ont.) in the 87th minute.
Toronto goalkeeper John Smits (Mississauga, Ont.) recorded some key saves for his squad, earning the shutout in the 1-0 victory.
The Varsity Blues men's soccer team returns to Varsity Centre for their last home game of the season on Friday, October 10 when they take on the Queen's Gaels at 6 p.m.
