QUEEN'S DOMINANT OVER TORONTO IN MEN'S RUGBY

KINGSTON, Ont. - Saturday afternoon at Kingston Field Queen's men's rugby opened the 2008 season with a dominating 86-3 victory over the University of Toronto.
The Gaels opened the score quickly only 30 seconds in when Chris Barrett of Vancouver, B.C. broke free and scored his first of what would be four tries. The entire first half was all Queen's with tries coming in regularly. In the first half the Gaels scored eight tries total and scored four of them within 15 minutes of each other. Thomas Bincyk of Victoria, B.C., Aleandre Nemetz-Sinchein of Vancouver, B.C., and Mike Wong of Barrie, Ont. Added the other first half tries.
University of Toronto got onto the board with only one penalty goal which came at the three minute mark of the second half. The Gaels then took complete control of the game scoring another six tries in the second half to give the Gaels a total of 14 tries in this afternoon contest. Contributing in the second half was Graeme Dibden of Edmonton, Alb., Michael Salisbury of Toronto, Ont., Graeme Whyte of Whitby, Ont., Andrew Kirk of Paris, Ont., and again Mike Wong of Barrie, Ont.
This Game was controlled from start to finish by the Gaels and they look to keep the momentum going when they travel to Western on September 20th. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
