Lancers sweep Indianapolis with 92-86 overtime win
The Lancer men's basketball teams swept the NCAA Indianapolis Greyhounds in the NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic with a 92-86 overtime win on Thursday at the St. Denis Centre.
The Lancer men's basketball teams swept the NCAA Indianapolis Greyhounds in the NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic with a 92-86 overtime win on Thursday at the St. Denis Centre.
With the win, the Lancers are undefeated in exhibition play under interim head coach Ryan Steer with a 2-0 record. The Blue & Gold will now break in exhibition play until October 1st when they face Fanshawe College.
For the second straight game, the Lancers found themselves behind early in the game. Some solid shooting in the second quarter allowed the Lancers to take a 34-30 lead heading into the break. The second half was a see-saw battle as the two teams battled to a 76-76 tie at the end of regulation.
In the extra frame, Windsor dominated the offense to come away with the six point win.
The Lancers were led by fifth year guard Alex Campbell with a team high 23 points, while Mitch Farrell had the team's only double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Mike Rocca and Marko Kovac also hit double-digits with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Jordan Loyd led the visiting Greyhounds with a game high 31 points and 11 rebounds. Lucas Barker and Jimmy King each contributed 12 points, while Joe Retic finished the game with 10 points.
