Windsor defeats Indianapolis in NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic
The Lancer men's basketball team opened up the 2015-16 season with an impressive 89-79 win over the NCAA's Indianapolis Greyhounds in the NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic on Tuesday night at the St. Denis Centre.
The Lancer men's basketball team opened up the 2015-16 season with an impressive 89-79 win over the NCAA's Indianapolis Greyhounds in the NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic on Tuesday night at the St. Denis Centre.
In his first appearance on the bench, interim head coach Ryan Steer earned his first win with the Blue & Gold.
After leading early in the game, Windsor fell behind by as much as 16 points before battling back in the second half to come away with the victory.
Windsor was led by Alex Campbell with a game high 23 points and 8 rebounds, while Marko Kovac and Mike Rocca chipped in 21 points and 17 points, respectively. Defensively, Windsor was led by first year Lancer Isiah Osborne.
Indianapolis was led by Jordan Loyd and Joe Retic who each had 21 points. Tyler Rambo also hit double digits with 16 points, while Lucas Barker had 11.
The two teams will face off again on Thursday at 5:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
