TORONTO - Ryerson Rams men's basketball coach Roy Rana has joined the San Antonio Spurs organization as a guest coach during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, running from July 10-20.
This is the second consecutive summer Rana has been involved in the Summer League after spending last summer with the Utah Jazz.
The NBA Summer League is a period in which teams experiment with rosters and lineups and is often the first NBA experience for the latest group of draftees. Teams play three games before being ranked for a single-elimination knock out tournament to determine a Summer League champion.
Earlier this summer Rana led the men's Canadian Junior National Team to a seventh place finish at the FIBA U19 World Championship, marking the best ever finish for a Canadian squad at the event.
This upcoming OUA season will be the seventh season for Rana at the helm of the Ryerson Rams and the team will look to carry the momentum after claiming the bronze medal at this year's CIS Final 8 national championship.
