MEN'S BASKETBALL HOLIDAY ROUNDUP: Ryerson and Lakehead named co-champions of RUNIT
TORONTO – Following three days of action, the host Ryerson Rams and the Lakehead Thunderwolves were named co-champions of the Ryerson University National Invitational Tournament (RUNIT) after each posting perfect 3-0 records.
The host Rams have now won three straight RUNIT titles and have an unblemished 9-0 record over that span.
This year Ryerson defeated the Sheridan Bruins 106-44 on day one, the UQAM Citadins 81-40 on day two, and closed out the tournament with another convincing win, a 94-45 decision over the Laval Rouge et Or.
Five of the six competing teams found the win column over the past three days. Full results are below.
Following the conclusion of action, Ryerson’s Adika Peter-McNeilly was named the tournament most valuable player while five players were named tournament all-stars.
