Bullard and Jones named Pioneer Energy OUA athletes of the week

HAMILTON, Ont. - The following athletes have been named Pioneer Energy Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 24, 2013.
Each Pioneer Energy OUA Athlete of the Week will receive a gift card and a dri-fit T-shirt, courtesy of Pioneer Energy.
FEMALE: Gemma Bullard, Queen's Gaels, Basketball
Gemma Bullard was instrumental in the Gaels two victories this weekend over McMaster and No. 10 Brock. On Friday against the Marauders, with the Gaels trailing by three with four minutes remaining, Bullard hit a three-pointer to tie the game and the Gaels never trailed from there on out as she finished with 11 points. The Guelph, Ont., native then dominated in the Gaels upset overtime win over the Badgers on Saturday. She scored a game high 25 points on nine of fifteen shooting from the floor with 15 of her 25 points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime combined.
MALE: Jahmal Jones, Ryerson Rams, Basketball
Jahmal Jones (Mississauga, Ont.) netted a career-high 35 points in Friday’s win over Guelph before adding 21 more in a win over Lakehead. The senior point guard now sits fifth in the OUA scoring race, averaging 20.2 points per game this season. He also dished out eight assists this weekend and ranks second in the league with 5.1 assists per game.
