Harricharan and Scrubb earn Pioneer Energy OUA athlete of the week honours

HAMILTON, Ont. - The following athletes have been named Pioneer Energy Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 17, 2013.
Each Pioneer Energy OUA Athlete of the Week will receive a gift card and a dri-fit T-shirt, courtesy of Pioneer Energy.
FEMALE: Alisha Harricharan, Guelph Gryphons, Swimming
Fourth-year Alisha Harricharan (Brampton, Ont.) earned four individual gold medals on Saturday as the Gryphons hosted the OUA Stratten Divisional Championships. Coming off her FISU games trip in Russia this summer, the psychology student showed the OUA that she is the fly queen. She won the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly as well as the 50m freestyle. Harricharan also helped the women’s relay team snag third place in the 200m freestyle relay and the 400m freestyle relay.
MALE: Philip Scrubb, Carleton Ravens, Basketball
Philip Scrubb (Richmond, B.C.) turned in a spectacular performance for the Ravens in Friday night’s 83-72 victory over the McMaster Marauders. The commerce major filled the Marauders basket with 44 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and chipped in with 6 assists in 36 minutes of playing time. Through six games this season, the fourth-year guard has averaged 22.8 points per game.
