Tulloch and Fickel named Pioneer Energy OUA athletes of the week

MALE: Daniel Tulloch, York Lions, Basketball
York basketball player Daniel Tulloch (Mississauga, Ont.) tallied 52 points and 16 rebounds in two games to lead the Lions to a 1-1 record against Algoma and Laurentian. In an 84-77 victory over the Thunderbirds on Friday night, the second-year forward led all players with 24 points, including 6-of-8 shooting from the floor, and also added six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal. He was even more dominant the following night in a narrow 86-85 loss to the Voyageurs, posting a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds and also adding three steals, one assist and one block. Tulloch is the team's leading scorer and is ranked 10th in the OUA with an average of 17.3 points per game.
FEMALE: Jessica Fickel, Brock Badgers, Hockey
Jessica Fickel (Fort Erie, Ont.) helped lead the Brock women's hockey team to back-to-back home victories over the Nipissing Lakers and Laurentian Voyageurs. In two games, the fourth-year Kinesiology major recorded seven points including five goals and two helpers. Two of her five goals were shorthanded markers tying her for the all-time lead with former Badger Kate Allgood for career shorthanded goals. Versus Nipissing, Fickel had a four-point performance, highlighted by the natural hat trick in the 8-1 victory. In the 4-0 win over Laurentian, she was in on three of four goals, adding two goals and one helper.
