Mustangs top the podium at Brock Open
ST CATHERINE'S, ON – The Mustangs headed to St. Catharine's this weekend to compete in the Brock Open. The 33 events drew 673 competitors from 41 clubs across Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, and New York State.
The Brock Open is one of the largest tournaments on the Ontario circuit, and the top finishes from the women's side will boost their national rankings significantly. The women's sabre captain Victoria Edwards, commented on the high level of play, saying "there were a lot of elite fencers out to Brock this year and the competitive atmosphere was great!"
The Mustangs saw podium finishes with Olga Nova winning silver in the Junior Women's Epee event, Roxanna Belaoussoff claiming bronze in the Senior Women's Epee event, and Kayla Lambie taking home bronze in the Senior Women's Sabre event.
The men's side did not see the podium this weekend, but saw strong performances from Anthony Tran, Turner Tobin, and Oscar Qi, in Sabre, Epee, and Foil, respectively.
