TORONTO (CIS) – As football season heads into the Thanksgiving weekend, the road to the 2016 ArcelorMittal Dofasco Vanier Cup reaches a major milestone Wednesday, with just 52 days remaining until the 52nd CIS football championship.
The 2016 ArcelorMittal Dofasco Vanier Cup is set for November 26 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ont., between the winners of the Uteck and Mitchell Bowl national semifinals and will be aired coast-to-coast on Sportsnet and TVA Sports, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
Highlighting the Road to the Vanier Cup, a street festival is planned for November 4 outside the Fortinos Vanier House, which opened last week at historic Lister Block. The Tourism Hamilton Visitor Centre, which features a special exhibit organized by the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, will be the destination for university football fans until November 27.
The festivities continue right up until Vanier Cup Week, which will include a flag football tournament, coaches and officials clinics, a combine challenge, and the All-Canadian skills competition.
The CIS Football Game of the Week – presented by Ontario University Athletics and Atlantic University Sport in partnership with Sportsnet – wraps up its schedule in Wolfville, N.S. on Saturday, October 15, as Acadia welcomes Mount Allison for Homecoming. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET live on City.
