Lancers head coach D'Amore signs five-year contract extension

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Windsor Lancers are pleased to announce that Lancer Football head coach Joe D'Amore has signed a five year contract extension with the Department of Athletics and University of Windsor.
 
"We are very excited to have Joe on board as head coach for the next five years," said athletic director Mike Havey. "Joe has done a tremendous job with the program thus far, turning them into a playoff contender, and we are looking forward to him leading the team into the future."
 
Widely respected as one of the top young coaches in the country, D'Amore was named the fourth head coach in program history in 2012 following a one year stint as interim-head coach.
 
Under Coach D'Amore's leadership, the Lancers into the playoffs in each of his four seasons as head coach. In 2014, the Lancer Football program finished the regular season in fourth place with a 5-3 record and hosted a home playoff game for the first time since 2006.
 
"I am very excited to continue with what we have started here over the last 4 years," said D'Amore. "We have taken big steps with this program and I am looking forward to build on our 4 straight playoff appearances. We have a strong group returning and I am excited to begin the next chapter in our journey to a Yates cup."
