Vancouver rock band Head of the Herd to play 106th Yates Cup halftime
November 4, 2013
HAMILTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is pleased to announce Head of the Herd as the featured musical act for the halftime performance at the 106th Yates Cup, presented by Pioneer Energy.
Hailing from Vancouver, B.C., Head of the Herd, a modern blues rock band with a hell of an edge is comprised of Neu Mannas and Clayton Frank. The musical duo released their sophomore album “By This Time Tomorrow” on October 22, and embarked on a national headline tour that began October 29.
Harnessing the energy of their live show, ”By This Time Tomorrow” highlights the bluesy, melodic, storytelling prowess that has become the band’s trademark. They created the album in two sessions. The first with one of rock's most sought after producers Gggarth Richardson, the man behind Rage Against the Machine's chart topping debut, Biffy Clyro's 2013 UK #1 album "Opposites" and countless in between. The second session was produced by Rick Jackett and James Black from the multi-platinum group Finger Eleven.
The album’s title track and lead single features Jasmin Parkin from Mother Mother. The song has been used by the NHL and Hockey Night in Canada for a playoff montage, and in late June 2013, the song hit #1 on the national rock radio charts. Fans can purchase the single at https://itunes.apple.com/ca/artist/head-of-the-herd/id571291595.
Head of the Herd is excited to add the 106th Yates Cup into their national tour lineup.
"We're stoked to be a part of the Yates Cup this year. We can't wait to rock the crowd and play a few tunes off of our new album 'By This Time Tomorrow’.”
