Western football and Guelph rugby named Pizza Pizza OUA teams of the month for September

HAMILTON, Ont. – The following Ontario University Athletics (OUA) teams have been named Pizza Pizza OUA Teams of the Month for September 2013.
All Pizza Pizza OUA Teams of the Month will receive a pizza party, courtesy of Pizza Pizza.
MALE: Western Mustangs Football
The Western Mustangs football team rolled through the OUA in September racking up six victories in six games to improve to 7-0 on the season. The ‘Stangs established themselves as the number one ranked team in the CIS, unseating Laval. Leading the way for the Mustangs has been the nation’s top offence which is currently first in: total points (408), points-per-game (58.3), passing yards (2,727), and rushing yards (1,697). So far in 2013 the team has scored at least 50 points in all but one of their games in which they put 45 points on the scoreboard.
FMEALE: Guelph Gryphons Rugby
The Guelph Gryphons women’s rugby team has started the season with a perfect 5-0 regular season record. The Gryphs have scored 298 total points – 120 more points than the next closest team in the Shiels Division – and allowed a league-low 46. The offensive juggernaut has four players listed in the top 10 of OUA scoring led by Daria Keane with 50 total points.
