Sportsnet 360 Tackles the University Gridiron with 13 CIS Football Games This Season

TORONTO (August 23, 2013) Sportsnet 360 delivers textbook coverage of the 2013 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football season, broadcasting six regular season Ontario University Athletics (OUA) matchups and the OUA playoffs, as well as the Yates Cup, Uteck Bowl, Mitchell Bowl, and Vanier Cup. Coverage kicks off Saturday, Sept. 7 as the McMaster Marauders host the Western Mustangs at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Sportsnet 360 (see full broadcast schedule below).
Headlining Sportsnet’s honour roll of analysts, Tim Micallef returns to his CIS broadcasting roots to call play-by-play alongside analyst and former award-winning CFL receiver Mike Morreale. As a part of the game broadcasts, former OUA running back and current Sportsnet reporter Donnovan Bennett will provide weekly features on the players and stories from around the league.
In addition to game broadcasts, Sportsnet will provide cross-platform coverage throughout the CIS football season, including:
This season marks the first year of a new six-year multiplatform rights agreement between Sportsnet and CIS, which features expanded coverage of men’s and women’s CIS sports, headlined by the Vanier Cup and including the following marquee events: Football (Mitchell Bowl and Uteck Bowl), Men’s and Women’s Hockey Championships; Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, and more to be announced at a later date. Sportsnet 360 is one of the main hubs of CIS coverage, continuing its strong tradition of broadcasting university sports and amateur athletics, which began in 2002.
