The two combatants continued play from a rained out game earlier in the season with the scored tied 4-4 in the botto of the 5th. Both Waterloo and Laurier tacked on two more run's to make it 6-all, sending it to extra's. Laurier would load the bases and the fielders choice would cash in the winning run as the Hawks would take the game 7-6. Rynne Weppler took the loss in the contest.
In the second game Mike Gatchene (Kitchener) was dealing for the black and gold early and often retiring his first seven batter's faced, but the Warriors bats could not be ignited as they would fall once again to the Hawks 5-3.
Waterloo will be back in action for their final two games on Friday, October 9 against York. The doubleheader games will be must win's if Waterloo hopes to make the post-season. They currently sit in the sixth and final playoff spot with 14 points (record of 7-9) but have two games in hand on the Ryerson Rams who are chasing them with 10 points, 4 back of the Warriors.
