WHKY | Voyageurs Drop Heart Breaker to Lions

WHKY | Voyageurs Drop Heart Breaker to Lions

The Laurentian Voyageurs Women's hockey team played against the York University Lions on Saturday.

This afternoons game was crucial for the Vees as the playoff race is closing in fast. The Voyageurs currently have thirteen points and are ranked 9th in the OUA and are tied with the UOIT Ridgebacks.

This afternoons game was a big opportunity for the Vees to snap their current five game loss streak and come out with a win against the Lions.

Sixty minutes of regulation would bring zero goals and just a twelve minutes of penalties. Karen Collins turned away all twenty-six shots she faced in regulation, as did Eva Hall turning away thirty-one.

This game was undecided and therefore would be sent to over time where Erin Louce of the York Lions would be accredited the game ending goal. The York Lions would take this match with a score of 1-0 and improve to four wins in the season.

The Voyageurs will look to snap their five game loss streak tomorrow, Sunday November 25th against the second seed Nipissing Lakers.
