WINDSOR, Ont. – Traveling down the 401 to Winsor for their first road game of the season, the UOIT Ridgebacks women's hockey team defeated the Lancers 3-0 to notch their first win of the 2018-19 OUA regular season.
The Friday night contest saw the Ridgebacks excel on special teams, recording both powerplay and shorthanded markers, while outshooting the Lancers 32-28 on the evening.
UOIT will look to continue their road success, challenging the Western Mustangs tomorrow night in London. Puck drop for the Saturday matchup is set for 7 p.m. with the game also being streamed live on OUA.tv.

Kassidy Nauboris (Brampton, Ont.) scored in the second consecutive game, notching two goals in the Ridgebacks victory.
• Fellow fifth-year veteran
Sarah Biesenthal (Chepstow, Ont.) also recorded a multi-point night, registering two assists.

Chelsea Ball (Maple, Ont.) rounded out the Ridgebacks goal scoring with a powerplay marker in the second period.
• Making her first career start, second-year goaltender
Brooke Vial (Port Moody, B.C.) made 28 saves to record both her first career win and first career shutout.
• Lancers goalie Kristen Swiatochik recorded 29 stops, including 15 in a pressure heavy second period.
