NORTH BAY, Ont. – With 6:41 to go in the fourth quarter, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks had pulled within four of the Nipissing Lakers, but were unable to close the gap as they fell 86-73 to end their debut weekend.
Ammar Hassan (London, Ont.) finished with a double-double, dropping 26 points and grabbing 10 boards for Ontario Tech.
Saturday night's loss brings their opening weekend of OUA action to a close for the Ridgebacks. They will now turn their attention to their home opener against the Queen's Gaels on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre.

Graddy Kanku (Ottawa, Ont.) finished with a game-high 28 points for Ontario Tech, while
Ammar Hassan's 26 made him the only other Ridgeback in double-digit scoring.
• Will Tran finished with the Lakers' high of 21 points in the game. Three other Nipissing players finished in double-digits.
• The Lakers shot 45.7 per cent from beyond the arc, compared to 14.4 per cent from the Ridgebacks – one of the key differences in the game.
• Hassan had a game-high 10 rebounds, while Kanku had a game-high three steals.
• Danny Lukusa grabbed nine boards to lead the Lakers, while Shandon Ashitei had a game-high six assists.
