OSHAWA, Ont. – Rhiannon Kissel (Peterborough, Ont.) has moved to third in UOIT women's soccer all-time scoring after a pair of goals in Sunday's 3-1 victory over the RMC Paladins.
Kissel, who won the OUA scoring title and rookie of the year awards in 2016, now has 16 goals since joining the Ridgebacks.
Cassandra Sribny is the all-time leader with 34.
Both of Kissel's goals came near halftime, scoring her first in the 39
th minute. Just before the whistle to end the opening 45 minutes, in added time, she doubled UOIT's lead.
The Ridgebacks' final goal of the match came in the 78
th minute when
Sarah Foster (Oshawa, Ont.) scored her first OUA goal.
Eve Baker answered late for the Paladins, but with only two minutes remaining
Olivia Tierney (King City, Ont.) picked up the victory after making three saves for the Ridgebacks.
Claudia Rusu made 15 saves in the loss for RMC.
UOIT continues their homestand with a pair of games next weekend against the Toronto Varsity Blues and Ryerson Rams.
