MHKY | Redmen Down Voyageurs

MHKY | Redmen Down Voyageurs
The Voyageurs began the weekend with a tough opponent as the McGill Redmen came to town, a team that is very successful and placed in the University Cup in the 2017 season.

The Voyageurs were well aware of their opponent and played accordingly. The game started off quick as Luke McCaw would score his first goal just four minutes in after being out most of the season with an injury. McCaw would be assisted by Paul-Antoine Deslauriers for his third assist of the season.

McGill would be scoreless in the first period but come the second period they would start their four goal unanswered tear. Christopher Lalonde would be the one to answer the Vees and tie the game just three minutes in the second period on the power play.

The Vees would hold the Redmen to a tie until Nikolas Brouillard would add one more for the visitors. The game looked in the grasps for the Vees as they suppressed the very effective McGill offensive attack through half of the third period.

Samuel Tremblay and Antoine Dufort-Plante would add the last two goals for the Redmen making the final score 4-1 McGill.

Mackenzie Savard would be the goaltender that would take on the Redmen and he made an impressive 38 saves on the night.

Louis-Philip Guindon would turn away all but one shot with 26 saves for the Redmen and chalking up another win for the squad from Montreal.

The Vees take on the Concordia Stingers tomorrow in hopes to make the weekend a one win one loss final.
