MHKY | Voyageurs Fall to Patriotes 5-2 for Second Time in As Many Days
The Laurentian Voyageurs Men's hockey team played their second of a two game series against the UQTR Patriotes hockey team this afternoon. 
 
UQTR had a got the win over the Voyageurs last evening with a 5-2 final score, point for UQTR.
 
UQTR showcased their successful ability to score once again, as they put up two goals in the first period. Loik Leveille and Christophe Boivin would be the goal scorers for UQTR.
 
Luke McCaw on the other had was the first Voyageurs player to beat Alexandre Belenger with the help of Richard Therrien. Luke McCaw's goal would cut the UQTR lead in half and sending both teams into the second period at a 2-1 game.
 
The Voyageurs were not able to hold UQTR off for long as just three minutes into the second period Christophe Boivin would pot his second goal of the night on a UQTR power play.
 
Richard Therrien was the Voyageur that would answer back to UQTR 3-1 lead as he scored just two minutes after. Therrien scored with the help of Nicolas Dionne and Cole Peck.
 
Therrien's goal would be the last of the Voyageurs goals as UQTR would extend their lead with two more goals on Mackenzie Savard to finish out the second period.
 
The third period resulted in zero goals for both teams as the game was already decided by the end of the second period. Rather then goals both teams accumulated many penalty minutes in all three periods as the game was a heated match.
 
The Voyageurs lost both games giving them a loss on both games of the weekend and closing out the 2018 season on a two game loss streak. The Voyageurs will resume their season January 4th against the Nipissing Lakers after a much needed Christmas break.
