OSHAWA, Ont. – After netting six goals Friday night in a win over Nipissing, the UOIT men's hockey team could not buy a goal Sunday afternoon, as they fall 3-0 to the McGill Redmen.
It was a fast paced game from the drop of the puck, and the Ridgeback were rewarded with a power play just five minutes into the action. Unfortunately it was McGill who capitalized on the special teams situation, using a long stretch pass to spring Frederic Gamelin, who scored glove side on
Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska).
The shorthanded goal against did not deter the Ridgebacks, as they were awarded two more power plays before the period was over. Although skating with the extra man, UOIT was still unable to find the back of the net.
Bullion had a strong game between the pipes and kept the team within striking distance even after a second Redmen goal.
As time ran down in the third period, the Ridgebacks frustration started to show, as a late penalty gave McGill momentum and ultimately saw them ice the game with just over three minutes to play.
• Frederic Gamelin opened the scoring in the first period, with a perfect shot over Bullion's shoulder, after taking a stretch pass while shorthanded.
• Guillaume Gauthier gave the Redmen some breathing room in the second period, when his shot went post and in.
• Samuel Tremblay iced the game late in regulation with a blast after entering the Ridgebacks zone.

Michael Bullion made 32 saves on 35 shots in the loss.
• Louis-Philip Guindon was perfect with 36 saves in the shutout win, his fourth of the year.
