NORTH BAY, Ont. – Alexanne L'Heureux (Mont Laurier, Que.) capped off the opening weekend of the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks inaugural season by dropping a game-high 27 points against the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday night.
Unfortunately for the Ridgebacks, a strong third quarter wasn't enough to comeback from being down 18 at halftime as they fell 80-58.
"In our first weekend in the league we showed some positive spurts of being able to compete at the OUA level," said head coach
Christa Eniojukan. "However, we need to be more consistent on both ends of the floor for 40 minutes of basketball."
Saturday's game at Nipissing completes the debut weekend for Ontario Tech women's basketball. They will now turn their attention to their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 3 against the Queen's Gaels.
Tip-off, after a short pregame ceremony, is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre.
