TORONTO, Ont. – In a tightly-contested match against Toronto Varsity Blues, the Ontario Tech women's soccer team (sixth seed) was unable to mount an upset as they lost 1-0 to the Varsity Blues (fourth seed).
 
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made four saves in the loss for Ontario Tech, while Levanta Staggolis made five saves in the clean sheet victory for Toronto.

Miranda Badovinac scored the lone goal of the match in the 17^th minute for Toronto.
 
The Varsity Blues now travel to Kingston to face Queen's, while Ryerson heads to Ottawa for the OUA east quarter-final matches.
 
The Wednesday night loss marks back-to-back seasons the Ridgebacks have lost in the opening round of the OUA postseason. Their last trip to the quarter-final round was 2017 when they qualified for the final four, which they hosted in Oshawa.
 
Through eight seasons, the program now has a 4-4 record in the opening round of the postseason, which they have qualified for every year since joining the OUA.
