OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech University men's basketball program had a rough start to their weekend as they fell 101-61 to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday.
Laurier led from the get-go and didn't led the Ridgebacks into the game thanks to their three-point shooting. They ended the night shooting over 50 per cent from beyond the arc and over 40 per cent from the floor.
They will now wrap up the weekend against the Waterloo Warriors, which the Ridgebacks' Black History Month kick-off game. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.

Ammar Hassan (London, Ont.) had game-high 33 points for the Ridgebacks in the loss.
• Ali Sow and Adnan Begovic led Laurier's offence with 26 and 24 points respectively.

Ammar Hassan pulled in a game-high 17 boards for his tenth double-double of the year. He also had a team-high four steals.
• Laurier's Romello Taylor had a game-high five assists, while he and Kemel Archer led the Golden Hawks with six rebounds.
