PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – With their season on the line, needing at least a draw, the Ontario Tech University women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory in their final conference match of the year.
For much of the match it remained knotted 0-0, but in the 70
th minute
Julia Listro (Toronto, Ont.) scored the eventual game-winning goal. This was her first of the season and second OUA goal.
Eight minutes later
Georgia Wilder (Zurich, Ont.) sealed the deal with her second of the season and third career goal.
In goal,
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made eight saves for her first career clean sheet victory.
This Wednesday the Ridgebacks will travel to play the Nipissing Lakers or Toronto Varsity Blues, pending the results of matches on Sunday.
Ontario Tech could drop to sixth in the standings if the Ryerson Rams earn a victory over the first-place Ottawa Gee-Gees, while Toronto and Nipissing each have matches remaining against Carleton and Queen's. Toronto and Nipissing are currently locked at 24 points for third in the OUA east.
