Ridgebacks give Ravens scare, but are unable to upset the top team in the country

OSHAWA, Ont. – A tie game at halftime against the No. 1 ranked team in the country wasn't the likely prediction for fans in attendance on Saturday night, but the Ontario Tech University men's basketball team gave the Carleton Ravens somewhat of a scare in their first-ever meeting.

Ontario Tech and Carleton were tied 40-40 at the half, but the meeting ended with the Ravens earning a 99-69 victory.

Ammar Hassan (London, Ont.) continued his dominance with the Ridgebacks, dropping his fourth straight double-double for the Ridgebacks with 14 points and 11 boards.

Saturday wrapped up a three-game homestand for the Ridgebacks who will now head to Windsor to face the Lancers on Friday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
AJ Cummings (Ajax, Ont.) finished with the Ridgebacks-high of 15 points on 6-for-15 shooting, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
