OUA welcomes Naz Nazari as new Manager of Finance and Administration
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Naz Nazari as the organization’s new Manager of Finance and Administration.
Having spent the last 10 years working in a sport environment, Naz will take the next step in her professional career in that same realm; an opportunity that she is looking forward to pursuing. "I am very excited to start my new career with the Ontario University Athletics organization,” said Naz. “I look forward to working with Gord Grace and the rest of the team at the OUA and doing my part to help everyone achieve their objectives".
Before joining the OUA, Naz played key roles in the financial departments of both the Burlington Youth Soccer Club and the Oakville Soccer Club. With the former, Naz served as Financial Controller for the last three years, helping to maintain the organization’s financial records while also developing the office’s financial processes and procedures.
Prior to that, Naz served as Financial Manager at the Oakville Soccer Club, the largest not-for-profit community soccer organization in Canada. As part of her role to best serve the more 12,000 players, Naz was critical in providing insights, awareness, and analysis of the club’s financial information.
Beyond these roles, Naz also has nearly 15 years of bookkeeping experience, previously taking on such a role with Altered Image Inc., before working as Senior Bookkeeper for Peter’s Welding & Mechanical Services for the past 11 years.
“Naz has been a great asset for multiple organizations and we are excited for her to have a similar impact on the OUA,” said Gord Grace, OUA Chief Executive Officer. “The areas of finance and administration are critical to the success of any organization and I am confident that Naz will be able to manage those pillars successfully for the OUA.”
Ultimately, with her background in accounting and business administration, Naz has a long track record of professional success and will be striving to apply those core competencies to help the OUA achieve its ultimate vision and values.
“I will continue to help build a unique student-athletic experience for all of our member institutions while making sure our long term strategic vision aligns well with our financial obligations.”
